A beautiful, small Swedish apartment

0 Edit Artikel
Why hello there! My Scandinavian Home has spent a couple of days state-side both yesterday (did you see my greenhouse make-over?!) and Tuesday with the launch of my new book. So today, I'm bringing it home with this very charming Swedish space - yay! Interior stylist extraordinaire Emma Fischer has waved her magic wand over the itsy apartment (it measures 35 square metres / 377 square feet) to transform it into a calm haven using muted tones, warm natural materials and an abundance of plants. Look out for small, space saving tricks such as stackable stools, a windowsill doubling up as seating (love that!) and a wall mounted shoe rack too. Beautiful!

Oj oj oj - what a perfect home?! That dining space! And what you don't see in these pictures is that it has a wine cellar too.

Is there anything you love about this home?

Get the look: dining area - Hoffman chair, source a similar basket pot here, Plus cushion cover (I also love the Arrow cushion cover - so cute!). three posters over bench: Leaf lines by Silke Bonde, Abstract Construction by Atelier CPH, Borge Bredenbekk, V by Paper Collective. Sitting room - Bold chair by Moustache, I love this peppercorn linen blanket. Hallway - seagrass belly basket, spotted fabric by the metre from Afroart (currently out of stock - this one is similar). Bedroom - Eyes Wide Shut by Mirjana Kovachevic, pick up beautiful linen throws like these here, Taccia lamp by Flos.

If you're designing / decorating a small space you might want to check out this archive - so many fabulous solutions!

On a slightly different note -  I was so happy to be invited to a press-preview at the new Slettvoll store in Malmö yesterday (check out Instagram Stories for a peek) - I was completely bowled over by the elegance and timeless beauty of the Slettvoll designs as well as the delightful Norwegian heritage. The doors open to the public today, if you're in town you must pop in for a visit! It was great to meet fellow Skåne bloggers Malin Persson (who's beautiful home I shared here) and Daniella Witte (who also has a fabulous home) at the event too!
 Have a lovely day!

A charming, small Swedish flat with Autumn touches

This lovely Swedish home is one of those cosy, little apartments that has everything you need - somewhere to relax, sleep, cook, eat and store, despite measuring 38 square metres / 409 square feet. Loving the autumn hues too! I could totally imagine pottering about here this week - how about you?

Love this space - it's so charming!

The two things that stand out the most to me are the beautiful original wood floor - and the throw on the bed (does anyone know where this is from? If so, I'd be so grateful if you can let us know in the comment section below and I can update the post!).

How about you?

Get the look: sitting room - this cream chunky knit blanket is gorgeous! bedroom - pick up a black and white polka dot duvet cover here, SINNERLIG Pendant lamp, I like this and this brass wall sconce (pick up a budget version here). dining room - you can find vintage string shelves here.

Small space inspiration from a Swedish home

Why hello there! I hope you've had a great week? I've just arrived home, and it's sooooo nice to be back (take a sneak peak at the results of the project I've been working on this week here) - even if I am a little jet lagged! In my hazy state I stumbled across this little Swedish pad on Pinterest and it totally perked me up! I love how the small space has been laid out with a hallway, kitchen (how lovely are those cabinets?), dining area, and sitting room - such great inspiration for anyone looking to design in a tight spot!

The glass room divider is such a clever idea as it creates a separate zone for the entrance, without losing any light - perfect! I also love how the kitchen goes right the way along the back wall (it helps that it's the nicest kitchen E.V.E.R too, what do you say?!).

Is there anything you love in particular about this home?

A couple of items I know and love  - I think these are IKEA kitchen cabinets - am I right? Bistro chairs, this table with a concrete surface is similar.

Since this weekend is fast becoming an official annual 'blog holiday' in the calendar, I'm following suit and taking a little time off to recover from my trip and hang out with my (neglected!) family.

I hope you have a truly relaxing long weekend and see you Tuesday!

PPS Any tips on staying awake and beating jet lag?

A small Swedish space in creams and milky whites

Well hello there. Is it just me or is this week flying by?! In case you need to put time on hold for a minute or two - stop the clock, put your feet up and take a few moments to admire this calm Swedish space! Styled by Josefine Hååg for Fantastic Frank, the apartment has been designed using a palette of cream, beige and milky whites and a hint of mustard to create a truly calm, yet elegant oasis in the heart of Stockholm. Despite sizing up at a relatively small 40 square metre (430 square feet) it has everything you could possibly need - a sitting area for a quiet read, a lovely sleep zone, and desk area, kitchen and even a little spot outside to enjoy a morning coffee - hurrah!

Aaaaaa, so nice! I absolutely love the colour scheme, it's so beautiful!

A few items I love: the Mantis wall lamp is such a clever choice for a small space since it can be swung over the desk area when working or the sofa when curled up with a book (I love my Mantis desk lamp!). I'm also a huge fan of the Flos ceiling light and that cute mustard knot cushion - such a lovely touch!

Is there anything that catches your eye?

Have a lovely day!

PS the sun has come out just for my friend's visit - thank you Swedish weather gods! Off for a stroll along the beach..... hope the sun's shining where you are too!

Styling a small space, the Swedish way

It's been a while since I've shown a home from Scandinavia - which feels pretty strange, given the alias of my blog! Since we're now back safe and sound in Scandinavia (moored in Rødvig, a fishing village South of Copenhagen to be precise), I thought it was definitely about time! It's hard to envisage that this delightful space in Gothenburg is a mere 37 square metres (398 square feet - I had to double check this conversion as I'm forever getting it wrong!). The illusion of space is largely thanks to clever styling tricks by Emma Fischer - who's made use of the vertical space and maintained the same light, colour scheme throughout. Enjoy the tour!

I can totally imagine padding around in this lovely apartment, how about you?!

Get the look: sitting room - prints / posters: ADORAY, Eyes Wide Shut, The lady in the bathroom,
source similar nest tables here, this moss knit blanket is similar, seagrass belly basket (I also love this macrame one),  stonewashed white linen duvet cover and pillowcases (see my bedding from the same Etsy shop in denim here - love it!). Kitchen - bentwood chair, bumling pendant light.

If you'd like to take a peek at other small spaces today try this archive (although very different from the above, I am still thinking about this wonderful studio I featured the other week...isn't it fab?!).

Have a lovely day!

PS Thank you for all your amazingly positive feedback on my new book  - both here and on Instagram - truly heartwarming!
